Ban Ki-Moon makes UN pledge on Amazon jungle

United Nations secretary general Ban Ki-moon said the world body would join forces with Brazil to help protect its rain forest as he ended a week-long trip to South America.

The trip, which has seen Ban visit melting Antarctic glaciers and travel deep into the jungle, is intended to help the UN chief prepare for December negotiations on an international plan to combat global warming.
