Slovenians voted for a new president today, choosing in a run-off election between former Prime Minister Lojze Peterle and Danilo Tuerk, a long-time diplomat.

Slovenians voted for a new president today, choosing in a run-off election between former Prime Minister Lojze Peterle and Danilo Tuerk, a long-time diplomat.

The winner will replace President Janez Drnovsek, who has decided not to seek a second five-year term. His term expires on December 22.
