Motorcycle 'swerved to avoid Diana crash'

A motorcycle following close behind Diana, Princess of Wales’s Mercedes swerved to avoid the car as it crashed in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel, her inquest heard today.

Grigori Rassinier, a French motorist who was travelling in the opposite direction, witnessed the bike emerge from the smoke which engulfed the underpass, and quickly leave the scene without stopping.
