Barcelona suicide bomber caught

A Frenchman who claimed to be a suicidal jilted lover after being caught with a crude bomb was actually planning a terrorist attack, police revealed today.

The 30-year-old, of Moroccan origin, was stopped at a routine motorway checkpoint on Sunday in the north-east Catalonia region of Spain shortly after he drove across the border from France.
