Thirty-four dead in Vietnam bridge collapse
At least 34 workers were killed and dozens of others trapped or injured today when a bridge under construction in southern Vietnam collapsed, officials said.
The Japanese-funded bridge was being built across the Hau River, a branch of the Mekong River, in the southern city of Can Tho. It is part of a heavily travelled route which links the Mekong Delta and Ho Chi Minh City.
