President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad today shrugged off a French warning of war if Iran develops a nuclear weapon, saying the comments were not to be taken seriously.

French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner gave the warning on Sunday, a sign of a toughening stance by his country in the West’s efforts to rein in Iran’s nuclear programme. Tehran denies any intention to build a bomb.
