Mandela's elders in Darfur peace mission
A group launched by former South African president Nelson Mandela to foster peace and resolve global conflicts will undertake its first mission to Sudan to highlight the crisis in Darfur, the organisation said today.
Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who chairs the council of world leaders and Nobel laureates group known as The Elders, will lead a delegation that will include former US president Jimmy Carter, Mandela’s wife Graca Machel and Lakhdar Brahimi, a former UN envoy to Iraq.
