Pigs near foot-and-mouth sites to be culled
Pigs on a farm close to the two premises infected with foot-and-mouth in Surrey are to be culled, the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said today.
The decision was taken as a precautionary measure after a veterinary inspection of the animals for clinical signs of the disease proved inconclusive, Defra said.
Tests are being carried out, but it is not known when the results from these premises will be received.
