US led-forces kill Afghan rebels

Afghan police and coalition forces have killed nearly two dozen suspected insurgents in southern Afghanistan, the US-led coalition said today.

The combined force was on a combat patrol last night in Helmand province when insurgents attacked with mortars, rocket propelled grenades and small-arms fire, a statement said.
