At least 10 people were killed when a suicide bomber exploded his truck at a strategic bridge north of Baghdad today, sending cars plunging into the river, Iraqi police said.

The attack occurred at about noon local time on the Thiraa Dijla bridge in Taji, a town near a US air base 12 miles north of the capital, police said, giving the casualty toll.
