Moroccan town hit by bombing

A man exploded a gas canister near a tourist bus in Meknes north-east of the Moroccan capital Rabat today, though no casualties were reported in the blast, the state news agency MAP reported.

The man had apparently been targeting the bus, MAP said.

His arm was blown off in the explosion, it said. The attack in Meknes, 80 miles north-east of Rabat, came as Moroccan authorities have been cracking down on suspected extremists following suicide bombings earlier this year.
