19 million displaced by monsoon floods

Helicopters dropped food to almost two million marooned villagers in India today as the death toll from unusually heavy monsoon rains and floods in South Asia crossed 200, officials said.

At least 229 people have been killed in India and neighbouring Bangladesh, and 19 million driven from their homes in recent days.
