Jury sentences US Marine over killing of Iraqi civilian
A jury sentenced a US Marine corporal today to time served and reduced his rank to private for conspiring to murder an Iraqi civilian during a frustrated search for an insurgent.
Cpl Marshall Magincalda, 24, who has already served 448 days in custody, was the second of the eight-member squad implicated in the April 2006 slaying in the town of Hamdania to escape serving additional prison time.
