British soldier killed in Iraq
A British soldier died in Iraq today as a result of an indirect fire attack on Basra Palace, the British Ministry of Defence said.
The soldier was from the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment and next of kin have been informed.
The death comes on the same day that three RAF servicemen killed in a mortar attack on their Iraqi base on Thursday were formally named.
They are Matthew Caulwell, Christopher Dunsmore and Peter McFerran, all Senior Aircraftsmen.
