Part of Park Lane closed due to 'suspicious vehicle'

Part of Park Lane in central London was closed to traffic this afternoon after reports of a suspicious vehicle.

This follows the discovery earlier today of an explosive device in a car in Haymarket, which is also in the centre of the British capital.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: “Park Lane is closed at Marble Arch to Hyde Park Corner and a 200m cordon is in place.”
