Gordon Brown will address the nation as Britain's Prime Minister for the first time today as Tony Blair quits 10 Downing Street after more than a decade in power.

Both men will make formal visits to Buckingham Palace for the UK's queen to accept Mr Blair’s resignation and ask his successor as Labour leader to form a government.
