Nato 'capture Iran weapons en route to Taliban'

The United States has “irrefutable” evidence that Iran is transferring weapons to the Taliban in Afghanistan with the knowledge of the Iranian government, a senior US diplomat said today.

“There’s irrefutable evidence the Iranians are now doing this,” Under-secretary of State Nicholas Burns said on CNN. He said Nato had intercepted some of the shipments

“It’s certainly coming from the government of Iran. It’s coming from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard corps command, which is a basic unit of the Iranian government,” Mr Burns said in Paris.
