Package to combat HIV/AIDS in Africa

Group of Eight member states have agreed on a programme worth more than €44bn to combat the spread of HIV/Aids in Africa, Germany’s development minister said today.

Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul made the announcement on state ZDF television before talks between the leaders at the G8 summit in the northern German resort of Heiligendamm.
