US President George Bush today discounted Vladimir Putin’s threat to retarget missiles on Europe, saying on the sidelines of the G8 summit in Germany that “Russia is not going to attack Europe”.

US President George Bush today discounted Vladimir Putin’s threat to retarget missiles on Europe, saying on the sidelines of the G8 summit in Germany that “Russia is not going to attack Europe”.

Mr Bush said no US military response was required after Mr Putin warned that Russia would take steps in response to a US missile shield that would be deployed in Poland and the Czech Republic.
