Srebrenica survivors due Dutch Govt and UN

Thousands of survivors of Europe’s worst massacre since the Second World War sued the United Nations and the Dutch government today for their failure to protect civilians in the Srebrenica safe haven when Bosnian Serb forces overran it in 1995.

The long-awaited filing of the law suit came on the day when former Bosnian Serb General Zdravko Tolimir, one of the main suspects in the killings in which up to 8,000 men and boys died, was arraigned before the UN war crimes tribunal but declined to enter a plea.
