Blast at coffee bar near US embassy in Albania

An explosion at a coffee bar near the US embassy in Tirana injured a waitress and caused slight damage today, Albanian police reported.

The explosion at Bar Deus, yards away from the walls of the US embassy in the Albanian capital, was caused by less than an ounce of dynamite left at a table.

The blast occurred at 12.10pm (11.10am Irish Time), slightly injuring waitress Violeta Pano, 50, according to a police statement.
