Madeleine 'looked like' abduction 'suspect's' daughter
Missing Madeleine McCann could be the “twin” sister of the daughter of Robert Murat, a friend of the Murat family said today.
Geoffrey Livock, 71, who lives near Mr Murat’s estranged wife Dawn in Hockering, Norfolk, England, said the girls had the same hair style and very similar faces.
“At first glance if you saw them walking down the street you would think they were twins,” he said.
“Their hair is about the same and their faces are similar. I didn’t think anything about it when Madeleine went missing. It was only when all this came out that I realised they were so similar.”
Villagers said Mr Murat lived in Hockering with his wife prior to moving to Portugal about three years ago
Neighbours said he was “friendly and helpful”.
"He is a friendly chap. I used to know him right well. I used to see him in his garden, sitting outside with his ex-wife," said Fred French, 85.
“We used to have a laugh and a joke. I’m Scottish and he’s Portuguese and we used to say we were the foreigners of the village.”
Gerry Thompson, 56, added: “He is a friendly person to talk to. I have known him all the time he lived in the village, which must be about seven or eight years.
“I saw him in the pub a few times and we would have a chat. This whole thing is a bolt out of the blue.”
Neighbours said Mr Murat had worked as a car salesman in Norwich and as a factory worker during his time in Norfolk.
