A magnitude-5.1 quake jolted the Greek holiday island of Zakynthos today.

The University of Thessaloniki’s Geophysics Department said the undersea quake occurred at 04.34 (2.34am Irish time), with the epicentre 14 miles off the coast of the island.

The earthquake caused no serious damage or injury, authorities said.

The Ionian Sea island is in a seismically active area.
