British oil worker snatched by gunmen

An oil rig was evacuated today after gunmen seized a British oil worker in a dawn attack, a company spokesman said.

The attackers who boarded the Trident 8 rig operating off the Nigerian coast left 23 other people on board unharmed, said Guy Cantwell, a spokesman for Houston-based Transocean Inc.
