Nigeria: Militants release eight hostages

Eight foreign hostages seized by gunmen from an offshore vessel in southern Nigeria today have been released, the militant group that organised the kidnappings said.

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta said in an email the hostages were on their way back to Port Harcourt by boat and a local official confirmed authorities planned to receive them at the state government headquarters.
