Pakistani minister hurt, seven killed in suicide bombing
A suicide attacker detonated a bomb at a public meeting in north-western Pakistan today, killing at least seven people and wounding Pakistan’s interior minister, police said.
The bomb exploded when Interior Minister Aftab Khan Sherpao had finished his speech at the meeting in Charsadda, said Mohammed Khan, a police official. He said at least 10 people were in critical condition.
There was no immediate word on the minister’s condition.
He was being shifted to a hospital in the nearby city of Peshawar, Khan said.
Khan said the son of Sherpao, Sikandar Khan Sherpao, and some lawmakers and security officials were among the injured.
