US Congress to pass law calling for withdrawal from Iraq

The Democratic-controlled US Congress will pass legislation within days that requires the beginning of a US troop withdrawal from Iraq by October 1.

The bill, defying a fresh presidential veto threat, also sets a goal of a complete pull-out by April 1, 2008, Senate majority leader Harry Reid said today.
