'Murdered woman chopped up and barbecued'

A jealous man strangled his ex-girlfriend, dismembered her body and burned the pieces on a barbecue in a bid to destroy them, US authorities claim.

Neighbours were perplexed by the leaping flames and black smoke that came from Timothy Wayne Shepherd’s balcony for two days, as well as the accompanying acrid stench.
