Afghan plane skids off Istanbul runway

An Afghan plane skidded off the runway at Istanbul’s Ataturk airport today and came to a halt after being dragged for about 50 yards on its right wing, reports said.

All passengers and crew members were safely evacuated.

The Ariana Afghan Airlines flight from Kabul ran off the runway after it landed, Dogan news agency said.

It was not clear why the Airbus 300 skidded off the runway.
