Gore urges US action to avert global warming

Former Vice President Al Gore today told the US Congress that climate change posed “a crisis that threatens the survival of our civilisation and the habitability of the Earth”.

In Washington, he told a House of Representatives hearing he believed that it was not too late to deal with climate change “and we have everything we need to get started”.
