Russia: Care home blaze kills dozens

At least 63 people were killed when fire swept through a home for elderly and handicapped people in southern Russia today.

It took firefighters nearly an hour to get from the nearest sizeable town to the home in the Krasnodar region village of Kamyshevatskaya, where there was no fire station, said Sergei Petrov, a duty officer at the Emergency Situations Ministry’s southern branch.
