African Union call on Zimbabwe to respect human rights

The African Union has called on Zimbabwe to respect human rights and democratic principles after the country's opposition leader was beaten up in police custody earlier this week.

Morgan Tsvangirai was arrested at a political meeting in the capital Harare last week - and suffered severe lacerations and swelling after the attack.
