Suicide bombings death toll rises to 47
The death toll from two suicide bombings in Iraq today has risen to 47, according to reports.
Two suicide bombers exploded themselves in a crowd of Shiite pilgrims south of Baghdad.
The co-ordinated attack happened on a main street in Hillah, about 60 miles south of Baghdad, said Capt. Muthana Khalid.
Sixteen other people were wounded in the blasts, he said.
