Nato launches offensive against Taliban

Nato-led troops have launched an offensive against Taliban militants in southern Afghanistan’s volatile Helmand province, the alliance said in a statement.

The operation, involving about 4,500 Nato and 1,000 Afghan troops, will focus on the northern part of Helmand province.
