Elderly woman dies in UK train derailment
One woman died and 12 passengers were seriously injured when a intercity train derailed while travelling at 95mph in Cumbria in the UK.
The Virgin pendolino crashed near Little Docker Cottage, around the area of Grayrigg, near Kendal, Cumbria, at around 8.10pm yesterday.
The elderly woman who died was among 22 people who were taken to hospital following the incident.
The section of railway line where the crash happened could be closed for five or six days.
Officials are investigating the cause of the derailment, which remains unclear.
