UK: Funeral for murdered prostitute

The funeral of one of five prostitutes found dead late last year took place today.

Anneli Alderton (aged 24), of Colchester, Essex, was remembered during a service at a crematorium in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Miss Alderton, who was three months pregnant, disappeared in early December after catching a train in Harwich, Essex.

Police released security camera images of her on the train as part of their investigation into the deaths.

The funerals of the four other prostitutes – Tania Nicol, 19, Gemma Adams, 25, Paula Clennell, 24, and Annette Nicholls, 29, were held earlier this year.

The bodies of the five women were found in isolated locations south of Ipswich in December.

Steve Wright, 48, of Ipswich has been accused of murdering the five women and is next due to appear in court in Ipswich in May.
