'Ringleader' denies involvement in Madrid bombings

An Egyptian accused of being one of the masterminds of the Madrid terror attacks today told a court he had no involvement in the bombings, despite intercepted conversations in which he allegedly bragged that he was the brains behind them.

Rabei Osman told his defence lawyer: “I never had any relation to the events which occurred in Madrid.”
