Iranian diplomat seized by gunmen in central Baghdad

Gunmen wearing Iraqi army uniforms seized a senior Iranian diplomat as he drove through a central Baghdad neighbourhood, officials said today.

One Iraqi government official said the diplomat was detained by a special Iraqi army unit that reports directly to the US military.
