Cheney's daughter defends baby decision

US Vice President Dick Cheney’s lesbian daughter has spoken out for the first time in defence of her decision to have a baby with her long-term partner.

Mary Cheney, who has not said how she became pregnant, said same-sex couples were just as capable of raising children as heterosexual couples, The New York Times reported.
