Military officers among suspects in Bangkok bombing

Among the 15 suspects detained in a string of deadly New Year's bombings in Thailand's capital were police, navy and air force officers, authorities said today.

Some of those arrested had links to anti-government groups, Gen. Sondhi Boonyaratkalin, the country's coup leader, said.

Authorities had earlier said that eight of the 15 detained in raids in 18 locations were military officers.

The bombings killed three people and wounded nearly 40, while Bangkok was in the midst of New Year's celebrations.
