Castro may face further surgery

Spanish authorities confirmed today that a leading surgeon who treats ailing Cuban leader Fidel Castro has flown to Havana to examine whether he should undergo more surgery.

Dr Jose Luis Garcia Sabrido, chief surgeon at Madrid’s Gregorio Maranon hospital, travelled to Cuba’s capital last Thursday, Madrid region health official Manuel Lamela said.
