UK flights 'returning to normal' after fog clears

British flights were expected to return to normal today after a thick fog caused Christmas misery for thousands of travellers.

However, thousands of train passengers in the British midlands face finding alternative routes because of a 24-hour strike by conductors on rail company Central Trains.
