Fatah and Hamas 'reach ceasefire deal'

The leader of a small Palestinian faction said tonight that his group had helped broker a truce agreement between Fatah and Hamas militants.

Saleh Zidan, the Gaza head of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, told Al-Jazeera satellite television a deal had been reached that would include an immediate ceasefire, a withdrawal of gunmen from the streets and an end to incitement.
