Craggier landscape discovered beneath Mars' surface

The European Space Agency’s Mars Express orbiter has sent back images showing the planet has an older, craggier topography buried beneath a smoother, younger surface.

Scientists said the findings present important new clues about the geological evolution of Mars and even the Earth.
