'Several injured' as armed man storms German school

An armed man stormed a high school in north-western Germany today, injuring several people with handgun.

The man stormed the Geschwister Scholl school at about 9.30am (8.30am Irish time) in the town of Emsdetten, near the border with the Netherlands, and fired several shots.

N-tv television reported a teacher and a student were among the injured, but no further details were immediately available.
