Suicide bomber lures 22 Iraqis to their deaths

A suicide bomber in a minibus lured labourers to his vehicle with promises of a job this morning then blew it up, killing 22 people and wounding 44 in the mainly Shiite southern Iraqi city of Hillah.

Attacks by suspected insurgents in other areas of Iraq killed 27 people and wounded 50, raising the country’s death toll to 49 by midday today.
