Blix: N Korea nuclear test 'probably unsuccessful'

Former United Nations weapons inspector Hans Blix said today that North Korea’s nuclear test was probably unsuccessful – but the Communist nation would eventually perfect the technology.

Blix said that most experts believed the test was only a partial success because of its apparent small size, but said the world “should not be complacent about it”.

“Because if they didn’t succeed this time, how much time will it take them before they perfect it?” he said.

Blix said the October 9 nuclear test was “enough as a demonstration”.
