Annan focuses on cost of reducing greenhouse emissions

UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan opened high level talks at the UN climate conference in Kenya today by saying it would cost less to cut greenhouse-gas emissions now than deal with global warming in the long run.

The annual UN climate conference, being held in Nairobi, brings together diplomats and scientists from around the world to discuss global warming and what to do about it.
