Spare Saddam, says New Zealand's premier

Saddam Hussein should not be hanged despite the “horrific acts” he has committed, the Prime Minister of New Zealand said today.

Prime Minister Helen Clark said the death penalty was “inappropriate” whatever the circumstances and that her country could not accept it.
