Female suicide bomber blows herself up in Gaza

A female suicide bomber approached Israeli troops operating in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun today and blew herself up, the army and Palestinian residents said.

One soldier was slightly injured in the blast, the army said.

The blast occurred amid a six-day long Israeli offensive in the town to stop Palestinians from firing home-made rockets into Israel.
